The Sports Sync x Vortex Pickleball

The Sports Sync x Vortex Pickleball Tournament is set to be one of the most exciting pickleball events in Malaysia this year. Happening on 14 June 2025 at PickleX, Setia Alam iCity, this tournament brings together passionate players for a day of competitive and high-energy matches. 

With a registration window open from 21 May to 9 June 2025, it welcomes advanced intermediate players with a combined DUPR rating cap of 7.77.

Participants will compete in Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories, with an impressive prize pool totalling RM8,400 in cash and Cash Bonus.

Schedule

• 8:00am - 12:00pm: Men’s Doubles advanced intermediate (combined DUPR <7.77)
• 12:00pm - 4:00pm: Mixed Doubles advanced intermediate (combined DUPR <7.77)
• 4:00pm - 5:00pm: Prize giving ceremony

Tournament Format & Rules

Group Stage Format:

• 40 teams split into 8 groups of 5.
• Round-robin matches: 1 set, rally to 15 points (sudden death), switch sides at 8 points.
• Top 2 teams from each group advance.

Knockout Stages:

• Round 16 & Quarterfinals: 1 set, rally to 15, switch at 8 points.
• Semifinals: 1 set, rally to 21, switch at 11 points.
• Finals & 3rd Place: Best of 3 sets (rally to 15), switch sides per set (last set at 8 points).

Time-Out Rules:

• Group Stage: No time-outs.
• R16/QF/SF: 1 time-out (1 min) per team.
• Finals/3rd Place: 2 time-outs (1 min each) between sets.

DUPR Tracking: 

• All match results will be recorded in the DUPR system.

Reporting Time: 

• Teams must arrive 1 hour before their category’s start time.
