The undergoing Malaysia Super Pickleball League (MSPL), established by Infinity Sports Academy, is set to elevate the nation’s burgeoning pickleball scene. 

The league features eight teams divided into two groups, each led by a distinguished captain. Let’s delve into the profiles of these leaders and their respective teams.

Group A

1. City Poppers – Athilia Miasara

  • Background: Known as “The Warrior,” Athilia is celebrated for her aggressive playstyle and undeniable talent on the court. Her leadership is anticipated to drive the City Poppers to remarkable performances in the league.

2. Bintang Crushers – Perry Kuan

  • Background: As the captain of the Bintang Crushers, Perry is recognized as an up-and-coming talent in the pickleball community. In 2024, he made significant strides by clinching a singles title at the Siam Pickleball Tournament, marking him as a player to watch.

3. Malaysia Tigers – Syed Uzair

  • Background: Dubbed “The Young Phantom,” Syed is renowned for his speed, aggression, and agility. He recently secured the Men’s Singles Open Championship at the Sarawak Open, underscoring his prowess on the court. Additionally, Syed, alongside Jimmy Liong, earned a silver medal in the Men’s Double 19+ Advance category at the 2024 WPC Series in India.

4. Diamond Bangers – Jimmy Liong

  • Background: At just 22, Jimmy has already made a significant mark by becoming the champion of the World Pickleball Championship 2024 in the 19+ 4.5 advanced category. His early successes have positioned him as a formidable competitor and a source of pride for Malaysia.

1. Midnight Slicers – Razlan Rawi

  • Background: Known as “El Magicion,” Razlan holds the title of Malaysia’s No.1 player in the 35+ category. He is celebrated for his soft, crafty, and deceptive playstyle. Representing the Midnight Slicers as Senior Captain, Razlan recently clinched the Men’s Single 35+ Open title at the Asia Pickleball Games 2024 in Taichung, Taiwan, marking a proud moment for Malaysia.

2. Monsoon Smashers – Aiman Hamdan

  • Background: Nicknamed “The Powerhouse,” Aiman is recognized for his dynamic play and powerful forehand drives. He recently secured a silver medal in the Men’s Single Open at the 2024 APBA Pickleball Tournament in China, showcasing his competitive spirit and skill.

3. Batik Blitz – Toi Siew Ee

  • Background: A professional pickleball athlete, Toi is known for her powerful forehand drives and relentless attacking style. As the captain of Batik Blitz, she brings a competitive edge and strategic insight to her team.

4. Tropical Thunders – Satveer Singh
