Leadership Insights and Team Reflections
Ir. Amir Farid, President of the Putrajaya Pickleball Association, shared: “Alhamdulillah, our junior team showed incredible commitment throughout the tournament. It’s not just about winning, but the courage to compete and to learn. This marks an important starting point for grassroots and junior development of pickleball. Observing the growth and progress shown by the host country, Vietnam, it is time for us to strengthen our own developmental structure in Malaysia.”
Team Manager Mr. Khairol Azmi added: “This tournament provided a platform for players to test their abilities in an international setting. Mentally, strategically, and in terms of discipline on court, they demonstrated great potential. We view this as a meaningful first step in building a new generation of pickleball athletes for the country.”
Head Coach Mr. Fadhil Hussin also remarked: “While there is still much room for improvement, particularly in training intensity and consistency, the players’ spirit and desire to compete was outstanding. They were fearless against teams from Japan, Korea, and the host Vietnam. This is a strong beginning.”
